Sightseeing Paris by Foot – Day 40

Wednesday 9th September 2009 – France
Woke up quite early this morning in time for breakfast. I hadn’t actually got any sleep so technically I was already awake. I showered and made my way to the breakfast room. After breakfast I packed my things and headed out for a long hike across Paris.

Portsmouth to Paris, Part 2 Begins – Day 39

Tuesday 8th September 2009 – France
Well, the time has come again, I’m off for part 2 of my travels. I woke up early and packed the remaining bits before the time came for mum and dad to take me down to the ferry port.

The Time Between

From 20th August to 7th September – Home
Its fair to say I had already decided that this wasn’t the end of my trip, and I knew I still had so much more to see. My previous trip hadn’t quite gone according to plan, although it was a great experience, but I needed to go back and finish it off. So this is exactly what I decided to do.

Le Havre to Portsmouth, The Ferry Home – Day 38

Wednesday 19th August 2009 – Home
I slept in for a while this morning to kill some time before I had to be on the ferry. I didn’t take much care in packing all my things into the back of the car, seeing as this would be the last time I would have to do it. Today I was going home.

The Drive Up Through France – Day 37

Tuesday 18th August 2009 – France
I had a plan to do about 6-7 hours driving today to get me closer to St Malo, where I presumed I would be getting a ferry from to get me back home. Nothing was booked yet as it was a sudden decision to cut the trip short, but it was more than likely that this would be the travel point.

My Journey Home Begins – Day 36

Monday 17th August 2009 – France
The campsite reception opened very early this morning so I was able to check out and be on my way first thing. This was good as I was intending to re-visit the bank from yesterdays nightmare, and plead with them – in the best French I could muster – to let me have my bank card back. What could go wrong??

Marseille and More Troubles – Day 35

Sunday 16th August 2009 – France
I used the 5 star facilities today, and I guess I shouldn’t have been surprised that there was fruit splashed against all the walls and all over the floor. Some kids had been messing around here last night, and the smell was pretty bad, not to mention the wasps that frequented the shower blocks as I tried to shower. It was not the best morning I have ever had, and it wasn’t about to get any better…

An Annoying Day in Montpellier – Day 34

Saturday 15th August 2009 – France
My journey now was going to take me to the French Riviera. I wanted to head for Marseille, but my first stop was Montpellier. I packed my things and said goodbye to the campsite, but first I needed to stop at the supermarket, so I headed into Carcassonne, and what a nightmare this turned out to be.

Sleeping Beauty Castle in Carcassonne, France – Day 33

Friday 14th August 2009 – France
My short stay in Andorra had come to an end and I was leaving today, bound for France. The road took me eastwards towards Soldeu, and I decided I would take the scenic route to France, rather than the 6 Euro tunnel that takes you straight there. It would always be the scenic route for me.

Sightseeing the Rest of Andorra – Day 32

Thursday 13th August 2009 – Andorra
The fact that it was cold the night before meant it was a cold morning. The high mountains stopped the sun from warming up the air until later on in the morning when the sun peered over the mountain tops. This meant that the tent was heavily condensated this morning. The cool was a complete contrast to how the trip has been so far, and i must say, i prefer the warmth.
