Thursday 8th October 2009 – France
Today was the first day in Nice, and the chance for me to relax and take in the sights before I travelled home again, so I wasn’t about to waste any time.

As I trawl through the search engines looking for travel sites or travel blogs, or just about anything I can find to do with travelling, I always end up at the same old sites, great sites with so much content and regular updates.

Wednesday 7th October 2009 – Nice
A long train journey along the Italian and French Riviera today was something to look forward to, as I have heard the scenery is quite special, but would it live up to my expectations?

Tuesday 6th October 2009 – Florence
It was time to see the city of Florence, and to find out what beauty it holds for me. I have been here before, but remember very little about it. I wondered what would be waiting for me today.

As you will know all too well, on January 12th Haiti was hit by an earthquake of magnitude 7.0, claiming many thousands of lives.

Monday 5th October 2009 – Florence
Today was a very strange day, it didn’t turn out as expected at all. I imagined it would take around an hour and a half to get to Florence, as this is how long it took a couple of days ago to get from there to here. I then thought I would just chill for a bit, maybe go out for a meal somewhere, but have a relaxing day. It was, as I mentioned, very different.

Sunday 4th October 2009 – Rome
I only had a day in which to see everything in Rome that I wanted to see. it would be a tall order to manage it all, but just how much did I get to see..

Saturday 3rd October 2009 – Rome
Today I’m off to Rome to see some of the most important sights in Italy, sights that people travel for miles from all around to see. I have been before but this time I was on my own, and able to see it all at my own pace.

Friday 2nd October 2009 – Venice
Well, to start with it was probably the best night sleep I have had all trip. The mattress was worn in the middle so you couldn’t help but slip into the centre, and the noise from outside was a lot to bear, but there was no noise from anyone in the dorm like I thought there would be, so I was very pleased, and slept all night through. Being extremely tired also helped.

Thursday 1st October 2009 – Venice
It was late in the evening when I boarded the train to take me from Zagreb to Venice, and it would be a long trip in more ways than one. Read on to share in the fun and games of this night train.
