Backpacking New Zealand in 2005

9 February 2010 One Comment

Back in 2005 I took my first travelling trip to New Zealand, and from here on in, I was hooked. It was a trip of a lifetime, and I was extremely apprehensive, as well as excited, to be going off on my first adventure alone.

I use to work in retail where I spent nearly 3 years seeing to our customers’ needs, selling stationary and office furniture, electrical goods and gadgets. It was a job that I enjoyed for the most part, working with some exceptional people, all of which touched my life in some way. But it got to the point where I just couldn’t do it any more. I guess a lot of people get to this point in their various work places.

I spent a long while talking about it, but was concious of the fact that I needed to actually do it, and not spend all my time talking the talk. I told my colleagues that I had a date, and used this as a reason to get myself into gear to properly plan my trip, and actually go. That is exactly what I did.

It turned out to be the best thing I ever did up until that point in my life, and it set me up for other trips that I have had since. Having started this travel blog, it is only natural that I should want to publish my travel diary, and to share my experiences with my valued readers. So from now onwards I will be writing my diary day by day as I have done with my European travels.

I hope you will all continue to read my blog and to comment on my posts. Please feel free to share your own experiences also. Stay tuned for my New Zealand travel blog coming very soon :)
