Tuesday 15th February 2011 – Yamba, Australia
I awoke to the familiar sound of rain this morning. I don’t know why, but I was under the impression it rained less in Australia to that of the UK, but certainly so far, I had experienced my fair share of the wet stuff. Rain has that annoying way of stopping you from doing the things you want to do, but I wouldn’t let it beat me, not today.
I had planned to go surfing again today with the two German girls I met yesterday, ...

Monday 14th February 2011 – Yamba, Australia
It’s fair to say I was looking forward to today immensely, and the prospect of surfing for the first time in my life. This is one of the main reasons for me coming to Australia, and today it was happening. I was very excited indeed.
I awoke nice and early and made my way to the reception where a few others were waiting. A confident surfer off on her daily surf was among the small gathering of people. Two pretty German girls were also waiting ...

Sunday 13th February – Yamba, Australia
My journey today would take me to Yamba, further up the East coast of Australia. First, though, I had most of the day to take a look around Coffs Harbour a little more. The glorious sunshine was beckoning me and I wanted to take full advantage of this.
I hadn’t been able to get to Muttonbird Island in time yesterday, and as the sun fell behind the mountains, I didn’t get the photos I was hoping for. Therefore, this morning was all about revisiting the island, ...

Saturday 12th February – Coffs Harbour, Australia
I hadn’t planned to spend too long in Coffs Harbour, but I was beginning to wonder if maybe I should, but I wasn’t really happy in the room I was in, and I wanted to move on as money was getting a bit tight, so today would be my last day here. I had a few things I wanted to do while I had the chance.
I started the morning by booking my onward journey tomorrow, and the hostel where I would be staying. The ...
