Having left the golden beaches of Perth, I was now headed north, this time to Darwin, where I imagined it would be a lot hotter, and I wasn’t wrong. Stepping out of the airport was like stepping into another country altogether.

As I said goodbye to Cairns, and all the friends I have made, I turn my attention towards Western Australia, and to one of the places I was looking forward to most of all on this trip. Perth was the next stop for me, and I couldn’t wait to walk on the long, sandy beaches.

Day 2 Cleaning the Hostel

Sunday 24th April 2011 – Port Macquarie, Australia

They had been in and out of the room all night long, laughing and banging about, resulting in just 2 hours sleep for me. I was a little grumpy this morning.
