Marseille and More Troubles – Day 35

Sunday 16th August 2009 – France
I used the 5 star facilities today, and I guess I shouldn’t have been surprised that there was fruit splashed against all the walls and all over the floor. Some kids had been messing around here last night, and the smell was pretty bad, not to mention the wasps that frequented the shower blocks as I tried to shower. It was not the best morning I have ever had, and it wasn’t about to get any better…

A Chilly Day in Calatayud – Day 28

Sunday 9th August 2009 – Spain
The thunder and lightning raged for a long while, eventually letting up at around midnight. For some strange reason, my alarm had set itself for midnight, and as I awoke, startled by the unexpected ringing in my ears, the rain had all but stopped. Oddly, though, people then began to come out of their tents and carry on their conversations. Kids even started playing again around the campsite. Don’t these people ever sleep!?

Waiting For My New Bank Card – Day 26

The object of the day today was to get back to the Calatayud campsite, collect my new bank card, and set off on my way to the rest of my trip. It was, however, very different.

My parents were told by FedEx that my card would be with me by Thursday, so I had an idea to make use of my time, and the money my parents had wired to me, and have a couple of days down in Barcelona by the beach.

A Campsite Just Outside Madrid – Day 20

Saturday 1st August 2009 – Spain
I’m into August now, three weeks into travelling, and I’m still getting strange looks from everyone. Maybe its the fact that an English person has driven here in the first place, maybe they don’t see many English cars, I don’t know. Anyway, today I was off to Madrid in search of a place to stay so I could receive my card, but it had to be a cheap place as money was running low.
