The adventure capital of the world is quite possibly New Zealand. However, the land of bungy jumping, zorbing, white-water and black-water rafting, surfing, skydiving and heliskiing is rather far away from Europe. With the flight costing close to £1000 there is little budget left for the actual activities, let alone accommodation and food.

Another day in Auckland, and I wanted to use this day to familiarise myself with the bus tours around New Zealand, namely the Kiwi Tours

After spending much of the day walking around Auckland city yesterday, I have managed to destroy my legs. They are extremely achy today, therefore the plan was to spend the day relaxing a bit, maybe do a bit of shopping.

Today would be my first full day in New Zealand, and I planned to use it well. I wanted to begin my sightseeing campaign and really begin my travelling adventure, but I had the small matter of jet-lag to contend with first.

Today I would eventually arrive in New Zealand, after more than a day from when I set out from the UK. After a day in the air I was ready for some rest and relaxation.

So begins my journey to New Zealand, and my first travelling trip. I was to set out alone to a country on the other side of the world, in what would hopefully be a life-changing experience for me. I still had a lot to do and to get ready though.

Back in 2005 I took my first travelling trip to New Zealand, and from here on in, I was hooked. It was a trip of a lifetime, and I was extremely apprehensive, as well as excited, to be going off on my first adventure alone.
