It turned out to be just one of those days today, one that I wanted to be over with as soon as possible. It would be a long, long day. I had the enjoyable prospect of a long drive from Wellington in the south, to Auckland in the north.

I was headed for a mammoth drive today, and had to make some hasty decisions about what to do, it would turn out to be a day very different to the one I was expecting.

Today was the ferry crossing from the North to the South Island, and I was quite glad to be escaping from the two cackling girls in the hostel, and to be heading for an altogether different kind of New Zealand – or so I’m told.

Today is very much the Time Between, as I am basically waiting to get across to the South Island to begin my adventures there. For now, though, I am stuck in the middle and its not the best place to be right now, as you will find out.

It was one of those not-much-to-talk-about days today, as there was not much to talk about. So I’m not going to talk about much. My destination for today was windy Wellington, the Capital of New Zealand, but would it prove to be a great place for me, or a place I would rather forget?
