The Best Money-Saving Holiday Ideas

6 June 2012 No Comment

With the cost of living going up everyone’s feeling the pinch, so when it comes to holidays it’s more important than ever to find something that’s both affordable and well within your means.

One of the best ways to save money is to look for cheap all inclusive holidays. When booking all inclusive, you might pay a little more at the booking stage but when you consider that all of your meals and drinks are paid for throughout the duration of your holiday, it’s usually a significant money-saver. Some all inclusive hotels will also offer discounts on local attractions too.

All inclusive very much depends on your personal tastes though. If you hate spending time in the hotel or by the pool, and have every intention of eating out more than once during your stay and will more than likely spend time away from the resorts on day trips or exploring the area, then all inclusive probably won’t be worth it. It’s best for those that just want the easy life and are happy to spend meal times in the hotel every day.

For those that don’t fancy all inclusive, try a late deal on bed and breakfast or a hotel with half board – which usually includes breakfast and a buffet dinner. That way you still get the odd meal provided but you have more flexibility and the ability to eat out from time to time. These are available all over the globe – so whether you choose to book cheap Sharm El Sheikh holiday deals, a weekend city break or a last-minute deal on the Spanish coast, you’ll find every different type of accommodation under the sun.

Always keep an eye on your operators’ websites too, as they will often advertise discounts on late deals or short-term reductions on holidays. It all helps to make things that little bit easier.
