The Wait Continues…. Day 27
Saturday 8th August 2009 – Spain
My phone has been playing up the past couple of days, and important texts that people are sending me, are not arriving on my phone. One such text was from dad, detailing the Western Union money transfer that was sent last night. I had no idea about the text until this morning when I managed to contact home. But all details were now in my possession, and I was now able to get a bit of money.
I have so much to thank the family for back home. I know they have spent many hours on the phone and the Internet, trying to sort things out for me, while I sit here not being able to do a thing. I cant wait to be able to thank them all properly.
An hour was needed to reach the post office by foot this morning, but I left with the money, and felt much happier. I returned to the campsite and immediately began taking my tent down. I said goodbye to the son, feeling bad about leaving their site, especially as they have been so helpful to me, but I couldn’t stay there for another few days doing nothing. I said I was off to the mountains for a couple of days, but would return on Monday to hopefully collect my card.
I tanked up on fuel, stocked up on food, and turned up at the new campsite feeling a lot happier. I pitched the tent and sat down with a nice, cool glass of coke.
I had a good lunch today and spent the day sunbathing, and playing in the pool to cool off. A British couple turned up and said hello. The guy noticed I was from Hampshire due to the number plate on my car, number plates being his job back home apparently. A Spanish family nearby was having a party for someone, and it was very lively. The British couple seemed unamused by this, but it looked and sounded fun to me.
My evening meal was very filling tonight, and very nice. It was good to get some proper food inside me. After the meal I relaxed a while as the clouds began to gather again. It is a nice little campsite and I’m happy enough to stay here a couple of days. The rain began to fall and I decided it was a good time to pack up and settle down for the night.
