Working in Port Macquarie

5 May 2011 No Comment

I am a week or two into my cleaning job in Port Macquarie Backpackers now, and it has gone pretty quickly, but I feel the time has come to move on, my goal being to head further northwards.

I have enjoyed spending time in Port Macquarie, although the weather has been a little cold, wet and windy most days. It has been nice to relax a little. I have cut down my spending drastically, and have been given a little money for my recent 30th birthday, which is very nice indeed. I plan to go back to Cairns where accommodation is cheap, and to spend a while really searching hard for any work I can find.

I am missing the warm weather now, and I feel I need to make the most of it before the winter really sets in, so this is another reason to head north. I have friends already working in Cairns, so it will be good to see them again. I just need a change of scenery as well if I am being honest, as I don’t like staying in the same place for too long – something I have discovered about myself whilst being in Australia.

I am itching for money, and am desperate for a job, as going home early is definitely not something I had planned, so I must go all out whilst in Cairns, begging if I have to. I have even considered busking for a little extra cash, but I know I would never have the balls for this!

lets hope for more adventures in Cairns, I know that’s what I am hoping for.
